At Kite Arts and Literacy Foundation, we are dedicated to providing education, arts, and literacy resources to those affected by incarceration. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background or circumstance. Through our initiatives, we strive to empower individuals and families impacted by incarceration to reach their full potential.

is a program utilizing Oregon can and bottle deposit redemption to raise money for arts and literacy recourses for Oregon children.

Our Founders

Jean Turnbull Hinkle
President and Cofounder
Mrs. Hinkle is life-long educator with a career spanning 7 decades. She holds Bachelor and Masters degrees from Willamette University in piano performance and music education. She has founded a local youth orchestra and codirector and accompanist for a local children's choir. As a nationally certified piano teacher, she continues to actively teach and is an avid supporter of the arts.
Beverly C. Cabuhat
Cofounder and Secretary
Ms. Cabuhat holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Columban Collage. She currently resides in the Philippines. She has worked for two international companies, most currently as a contract consultant for TOKY Publishing International LLC, a United States based company dedicated to the publishing needs of people affected by incarceration. She has a passion for education, music, art and literature. Having overcoming her own challenge of obtaining an education, she has dedicated herself to providing opportunities for youths in both the Philippines and the US to pursue education and the arts.
